The Arboretum Mysticum Lodge was formally dedicated in ceremonial High Magic on February 11th, 2017. This date also happened to coincide with the Jewish celebration known as Tu B’Shvat, otherwise known as the New Year of the Trees. In 2021 Tu B’Shvat falls upon January 27th, and will mark the dedication of our 5th year of the AM Lodge. Traditionally celebrated with the planting of trees and a ritual (seder) with the 7 species of fruits and grains which are native to Israel, 22 Teachings will be hosting a Tu B’Shvat ritual with our head of faculty Naha and our Hebrew Teacher Tami. This ritual is especially Qabalistic as the 7 species are categorized into 4 groups which correspond to the four worlds of Qabalah.
Naha will share the origins of the Lodge, and Tami will teach about the meaning of the celebration, and through the ritual we will partake together in the gifts of the trees.
If possible, participants should have the following for this ritual:
At least one fruit or nut from each of the first three categories
Fruit one: (Asiyah) fruits and nuts with inedible shells, such as pomegranates, almonds or coconuts
Fruit two: (Yetzirah) fruits with inedible cores—such as apricots, dates or olives
Fruit three: (Briyah) fully edible fruits such as figs or blueberries, grapes, raisins
Fruit four Atzilut is a spiritual fruit, not a physical one.
You will also need both red and white wine, or grape juice, and 4 empty glasses, and a teaspoon
You will need water for purification in a separate (5th) glass or goblet
1 Candle and matches.
If you are unable to acquire any of these items, you are still able to participate in this ritual.
We look forward to seeing you for this very special celebration and re-dedication of the AM Lodge
