In magically operative communities throughout the world, we find the idea that like attracts like. Therefore, it is important to keep lines of communication clean and clear between us and Spirit/Ancestors. When we do this, we can almost guarantee what we are calling in and welcoming is of benevolent nature. In ancestral reverence practices, it is extremely important to practice good spiritual hygiene because these practices can lead to mediumship. Spiritual hygiene is an act of devotion. Your ancestors dwell with you in your home. Keeping it clean and comfortable is one way you can honor them. But hygiene is not only relevant to the home and altar spaces. It is extremely important for the physical body.  

On this New Moon in Pisces, Vanessa will lead you in creating your very own holy water charged and blessed by the protective and wise powers of Grandmother Spider, an aspect of the Dark Mother. This Holy Water can be used to cleanse, bless, and protect anything you wish. Elevate things such as your altar, the entry way of your home, and your SELF before entering a difficult situation. 

Things required for this working: 

• A Bowl  
• Spring Water 
• A printed image of Grandmother Spider or a spider 
• Dried Herb: Sage, Sweet Grass, or Bay Leaf 
• Sea Salt 
• Candle 
• Lighter/Match 

How to best prepare for this ritual: 

• Create a space where you will not be disturbed 
• Enough space to sit, stand and/or lie down 
• Cleanse yourself and your space using herbs, a selenite wand, singing bowl, or LBRP before the ritual begins.
