The Greater Ritual of the Pentagram or GRP is a ceremonial magic ritual devised and used by the original order of the Golden Dawn and continues
to be employed by ceremonial magicians today. Constituting an advanced form of the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the pentagram, the GRP encompasses the full potential and power of the pentagram for use in elemental magic as well as providing applications for the ascent on the Qabalistic Tree of Life. The ritual is also used to consecrate the four traditional magical tools on the magician’s altar; the Disk, Sword, Cup and Wand.
In addition to receiving expanded symbolism of the pentagram, student will be instructed in the practical performance of the ritual by the instructor. This in-depth two-part ritual training will include:
Personal Power with the Pentagram
– Consecration of the Classical Tools of Magic
– Exorcism and the Magician’s Sword
– Banishing and Invocation of Spirits, Elementals and Zodiacal Powers
– Quintessence – Active and Passive Pentagrams of Spirit
– Equilibrium – Elemental Permutations
– Transmuting Positive and Negative Elemental Qualities
Where the LBRP serves as a general rite of integral utility, the Greater Ritual of the Pentagram offers versatility and deeper nuance into the workings of the magician in terms of inner work or in encounters with elementals and spirits in ceremonial magic. This ritual training builds upon, and expands previous teaching sessions and includes updated techniques and student handout.
