Advanced Tarot Module III: Esoteric Systems
Teacher: Naha Armády
4-Part Course
3 hours each class
Prerequisites: Tarot School 9-Week Course

This course explores the Esoteric Systems of the Thoth, Hermetic, and Papus/Martinist tarot decks and correspondences.

  • Sacred Letters of the Hermetic and Thoth Tarot
  • Astrological Decans of the Minor Arcana
  • Secret Formulas and Esoteric Titles of the Hermetic and Thoth Deck
  • A different lens – the Letter correspondences of Papus

Because these 4 classes are taught as a module, the material may move between weeks as it is harmonious with the group.

The following will be explored throughout this 4 week course.

Sacred Letters of the Hermetic and Thoth Tarot:
In the Western Mystery tradition, the Golden Dawn established correspondences with the Hebrew letters which connect them to the paths of the Tree of Life. In this class, Naha teaches the meanings of the letters as they apply to the Major Arcana and teaches a technique of esoteric formulae. The Hermetic Deck and Thoth Tarot will be used for this class. There will also be a discussion of the adjustments that Crowley made for his Thoth tarot.

Astrological Decans of the Minor Arcana:
Build the decan wheel of the Minor Arcana, and link the astrological correspondences to the keys. Naha will cover the history of the decan correspondences comparing different systems.

Secret Formulas and Esoteric Titles of the Hermetic and Thoth Deck:
Each tarot card has a secret formula and esoteric title associated with it. In this course, Naha teachers the esoteric symbolism and hidden meanings of the Thoth and Hermetic Decs, exploring secret formulas and arcane titles to enhance your tarot practice in both divinatory work and in altar work.

The French Esoterica: Previous to the Golden Dawn, the French occultist Papus, founder of the Martinist order, had a different way to correspond the letters to the tarot. In this class, students will explore the unique lens of the French tradition, and consider the application of the letters with the Magician relating to Aleph rather than the Fool, and what these implications can do to open the mind.
