Memory does not live only in the mind. It lives in rooms, objects, weather, songs, and smells.
This three-part writing lab approaches memory as something still alive within the self. Through guided writing exercises, students will move through inner rooms, encounter objects, and listen for the voices that continue to echo through the psyche long after moments have passed.
Rather than writing autobiography in a straightforward sense, we will work with memory as atmosphere, emotional pattern, symbolic recurrence, and landscape. The goal is not simply to remember what happened, but to discover how memory arranges itself within the body and imagination, and how writing can become a method of entering those hidden chambers.
Part I: The Room
We begin with spaces: a bedroom, a kitchen, a garden. Students will write from within remembered places, focusing on atmosphere, sensory detail, emotional pressure, and the strange intelligence rooms can carry over time.
Part II: The Object
In the second class, we work with objects that hold a charge. Students will explore how physical things gather memory, and how an object can become a point of longing, desire, identity, or attachment.
Part III: The Voice
In the final class, we listen for what remains alive within memory. Students will write through monologue, confession, dialogue, and direct address, allowing buried voices, younger selves, ancestral echoes, and unfinished conversations to emerge onto the page.
Across all three classes, writing becomes a way of entering the hidden house within the self and discovering what still lives there.

At 22 Teachings, Jessica leads the Book Club and creates tarot-based ritual classes that invite students to step inside the symbols so that what is read on the page becomes lived, embodied magic. Jessica has always been a seeker, and motherhood initiated her into a new octave of magic. Becoming Bisou’s mother gave her an even clearer sense of why spiritual practice matters in real life, in real time, with tiny hands tugging at the hem of ritual.
Her relationship with the unseen began in childhood, collecting crystals and reading tarot as a way to listen beneath the surface of things. In 2017, she began formal study with Naha at 22 Teachings, where her work in Hermetic Qabalah, ritual magic, and tarot became a dedicated path. She approaches the tarot as a living book of wisdom, a mirror for our human experience, and a practical tool for choosing the next right step when the soul is quietly asking for change.
