Esoteric Writing Lab: Words for Sacred Places 3-week course

This three-part esoteric writing lab approaches language as an offering made to particular places. Each week, we will enter a different sacred site and write a short, potent text for it: a home altar, a passage, and a wild place.

These are not poems about sacred spaces. They are texts written directly for them.

Across the lab, we will explore how writing clarifies relationship: who or what we are addressing, what we are asking or thanking, and what we are willing to offer in return. Through guided attention practices, timed writing, and revision, students will create language that can bless, guard, honor, and remain present within a place.

By the end of the series, each student will have three finished altar texts that can be spoken aloud, placed in the home, or carried to a wild place they wish to honor.

Part I: The Altar
We begin with the sacred space closest to us. Students will write for a home altar, exploring devotion, intention, and the relationship between what is placed there and what is asked in return.

Part II: The Passage
In the second class, we work with doors, windows, gates, and other places of passage. Students will write a text of welcome, protection, or boundary for a chosen point of entry.Part III: The Wild Place
In the final class, we turn toward a place outside the home that feels alive, familiar, or sacred. Students will write an offering rooted in gratitude, attention, and reciprocity with the living world.Across all three classes, writing becomes a way of blessing, guarding, and honoring the places and presences we live among.You are invited, though not required, to:

• Choose or create a small home altar for the first class.
• Identify a doorway, window, gate, or other point of entry that feels meaningful.
• Notice a nearby wild or outdoor place you can return to or feel connected with.
• Bring a notebook, a pen you enjoy writing with, and one object from your altar if it is easy to move.

At 22 Teachings, Jessica leads the Book Club and creates tarot-based ritual classes that invite students to step inside the symbols so that what is read on the page becomes lived, embodied magic. Jessica has always been a seeker, and motherhood initiated her into a new octave of magic. Becoming Bisou’s mother gave her an even clearer sense of why spiritual practice matters in real life, in real time, with tiny hands tugging at the hem of ritual.

Her relationship with the unseen began in childhood, collecting crystals and reading tarot as a way to listen beneath the surface of things. In 2017, she began formal study with Naha at 22 Teachings, where her work in Hermetic Qabalah, ritual magic, and tarot became a dedicated path. She approaches the tarot as a living book of wisdom, a mirror for our human experience, and a practical tool for choosing the next right step when the soul is quietly asking for change.
