The Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram or LBRP is a ceremonial magic ritual devised and used by the original order of the Golden Dawn that has become a mainstay in modern occultism. This ritual is considered by many to be a basic preliminary to any other magical work, so much that it was the only ritual, beside initiation rituals, taught to members of the Golden Dawn before they advanced to the Inner Order. This ritual is found in the opening rites of all ceremony and magical workings at 22 Teachings and the A.M. Lodge, and all students practicing at 22 Teachings or in the Lodge should take this training.

It is one thing to learn from a book, it is another thing completely to receive the spark of transmission through an initiated mentor.

For the 2026 version, Naha has re-written and extended the training to three days, with expanded knowledge lectures, in-depth discussion of the words of power, expansion of movement practice, practical modifications, Q & A, updated handouts and more.

VARIATIONS

Used together, the LBRP and the Qabalistic Cross:

• establish a sacred circle (safe space within which to invoke spirit, activate psychic centers, and perform ritual safely)
• ground the magician and the room
• banish out any stagnant or negative energies
• invoke the Archangels in the 4 directions

Students may complete the training at their own pace, yet it suggested to do it over the course of three weeks in order to integrate the training of each week. At the completion of the course, suggestions are given for further learning and recommended reading.

As a student of Hebrew under Tami Havton, Naha teaches proper Hebrew pronunciation and as a practioner of the Western Mysteries for 20 years, teaches not only how to perform this ritual, but why, the deeper meaning of each word, visualization, movement and shape, through her years of research, devotion to practice and scholarship in Hermetic Qabalah.
