For students who have completed Latin for Mystics, this advanced class offers an immersive exploration of the Roman Moon cults through Horace’s poetic dedication to Luna.

Latin, a sacred language of the Western Mystery Tradition, was the medium of invocation, ritual, and philosophical thought in ancient Rome. In this course, Manu Casanueva guides students through the life and work of Horace, shedding light on the spiritual significance of Luna in Roman religion. Students will analyze the poem’s structure and symbolism, learn precise Latin pronunciation, and develop the skills to write and confidently recite this hymn as part of their mystical practice.

Building on the foundation of Latin for Mystics, this class delves into the traditions of Roman Sun cults through the lyrical genius of Ovid.

Latin’s enduring role in the Western Mystery Tradition provides a powerful framework for connecting with the sacred. Manu Casanueva leads students on a journey through Ovid’s life and works, exploring his hymn to Sol and its significance in Roman religious thought. Students will uncover the deeper layers of meaning within the poem, master proper Latin pronunciation, and gain confidence in writing and reciting the hymn.
