The Philosopher’s Flame: A Two-Part Series on Neoplatonism and Pythagoras
Recorded June 2025
Teacher: Manuel Casanueva
Prerequisites: None

This series explores two foundational philosophies at the heart of the Western mystery tradition. Each session includes a lecture on the core concepts of the philosophy, an invocation from a sacred ancient text, and a guided meditation that translates metaphysical insight into direct experience.

The first session focuses on Neoplatonism and the vision of the soul’s ascent through contemplation and return to the One. Drawing on Plotinus, Iamblichus, and Proclus, we explore how divine intellect orders reality and how the soul participates in that order through inward motion and spiritual discipline.

The second session turns to Pythagoreanism, a worldview that sees number, proportion, and harmony as the hidden structure of both cosmos and psyche. We explore the tetractys, the Music of the Spheres, and the role of mathematical beauty in tuning the soul to the rhythm of the universe.
