The Goddess: Her many Forms and Faces is an evocative exploration of the symbology and transmission of the Great Mother Goddess from the Paleolithic era all the way through to our current time.

With a focus on the Western,  Mesopotamian, and Mediterranean cultures, this visual course examines how the Goddess is understood through the records left to us today – namely paintings, sculptures, archaeology, etymology and myth. The journey to understanding the many aspects of the Goddess is akin to exploring the development of human consciousness. Students are encouraged to connect to the images and stories on a somatic level.

Covering timelines and comparisons across cultures, the class will weave a path of understanding from womb to tomb, water and air, light and darkness, the wild garden to the cultivated field, laws and war – all are enfolded into the Goddess. Mary brings a depth of academic research and blends it with her understanding of the mystical. This connection to the imagery of the Goddess aims to provide perception into the past and trust in the rhythms of life available to us today.

Rejecting her name since childhood, Mary Baker ironically attended Catholic schools from Kindergarten to college, graduating with a Bachelor in Science from Saint Louis University. Mary found the Goddess in 2020 during her own private crisis (that just so happened to coincide with the outer world). Working with the Queen of Heaven and Earth allowed her to find sacred rhythm and flow, and to come home to herself, independent of others. The Goddess cracked her open to the wisdom of source that has always been with her. To be able to claim and be proud of her namesake now is a blessing and she wants everyone to find the Goddess in their life. A student at 22 Teachings since August 2020, Mary is thrilled to be sharing her passions of the Goddess, astrology and tarot with others. An LA local, she lives with her 2 cats and husband.
