[Rec] “Double-Edged Sword” A Tarot Ritual for Magicians with Jessica

Double Edged Sword: A Tarot Ritual for Magicians combines divination with Qabalistic ritual, and is inspired by Aleister Crowley’s Thoth tarot deck.

This tarot spread and ritual aims to sharpen students’ magical prowess. Through tarot, participants will explore the anatomy of a sword, learning to embody its qualities. Per famed occultist William Gray, “A Magical Sword was not the physical symbol one handles in Temple practice, but its qualities as applied to the human being. Flexibility, sharpness, keenness, brightness, pointedness of action, and everything else to be thought on in connection with a well-balanced blade.” These are the traits students will aim to cultivate, integrating these qualities into their being with the intent to enhance their magical practice.

Led by Jessica Chappell, this ritual is designed specifically for those with a magician’s mindset—a deep reverence for esoteric knowledge and a desire to co-create with the energies of the All. Drawing upon the sacred teachings of the Golden Dawn tradition and the egregore of the curriculum of 22 Teachings, students will gain a deeper understanding of the self through the tarot.
