The Star of the Magus: A Tarot Ritual for Magicians combines divination with Qabalistic ritual, and inspired by the writing of William Wynn Westcott and Samuel Liddell MacGregor Mathers.

This ritual tarot spread debuted at the Abracadabra Dome for the 22 Teachings Hi-Desert retreat Field Trip and it was such a potent working it is now being presented as a part of our Tarot curriculum.

“The Star of the Magus” creates communion with the archetypal energies of the Major Arcana and offers a very unique way to get the magician thinking about what they are calling into being, channeling directives from the guides through a series of affirmations and creative acts.  Through a guided ritual, writing, and a tarot spread, students will attune themselves to the potent currents of magical energy that flow through the tarot deck, and distill their thoughts into useful and potent statements of self. This ritual draws connections with the cards and the planets, uncovering insights for the forces they represent in the magician’s life.

Led by Jessica Chappell, this ritual is designed specifically for those with a magician’s mindset—a deep reverence for esoteric knowledge and a desire to co-create with the energies of the All. Drawing upon the sacred teachings of the Golden Dawn tradition and the egregore of the curriculum of 22 Teachings, students will gain a deeper understanding of the self through the tarot.
